Bodhgaya is the place of the Buddha’s Enlightenment and spiritual home of Buddhists. It attracts fallowers of Buddhism from all over the world. Bodhgaya situated near the river Niranjana, and second place of the four holy sites in Buddhism (Lumbini / Bodhgaya / Sarnath / Kushinagar). The main important here is Maha- bodhi tree – The tree is considered holy since Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under it. Visit monastries of different countrie. Rajgir is a site of great sanctity and significance for Buddhists. Rajgir is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site since the Buddha spent 12 years here and the first Buddhist council after the Buddha was hosted here at the Saptaparni caves. Nalanda which is 14 kms drive and it was one of the oldest Universities of the World and International Centre for Buddhist Studies.
Day 01 – BODHGAYA On arrival at Gaya International Airport /Railway Station. Meet and Greet assistance. Transfer to hotel at Bodhgaya. Check-in at the hotel (standard check-in time 1200 hours). Evening at leisure to explore the Mahabodhi temple in night (Open till 9 p.m.)and local market on your own. Dinner and Overnight stay in Bodhgaya .
Day 2 – BODHGAYA Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Assemble at the hotel lobby to proceed to the world heritage site of the famous Mahabodhi Temple built by Ashoka the Great – Visit the temple and the sacred Bodhi tree. Thereafter also visit the Thai, Sri Lankan, Vietnamese, Japanese Monasteries. Next Visit Sujata village & Niranjana River. It is said that a village lady named Sujata offered kheer (porridge made of rice and milk) to Prince Siddhartha when he was resting under a banyan tree, extremely tired, feeble and starved after practicing severe penance for 6 long years at the Dongeswari caves. Dinner, Return & overnight at the hotel in Bodhgaya
Day 3 – BODHGAYA – RAJGIR – NALANDA – BODHGAYA Buffet breakfast the hotel. Assemble at the hotel lobby to proceed to Rajgir – ancient city & the first capital of the Kingdom of Magadha (distance from Gaya to Rajgir – 75 kms & time taken 1 hour & 45 minutes approx.). Visit the Vishwa Shanti Stupa, photo-stop at Sapatarani Cave, Bimbisar Jail, Ajatsatru Fort & temple. Post lunch transfer to Nalanda – distance 15 kms from Rajgir & visit the ruins of Nalanda University, Buddhist monastery & Hindu temple. Return to Bodhgaya. Dinner and overnight stay in Bodhgaya
Day – 4 BODHGAYA Buffet breakfast and check-out from the hotel. Time free for leisure & some shopping on your own. Transfer to Bodhgaya International Airport / Railway station for your flight back home .
